Infused Water!

Water is Life! literally.

Proper hydration is absolutely essential for our body’s health. Our body consists of 55%-72% water, so can’t function without it. It is vital in keeping our brain and organs working and constantly flushing out toxins. Stay hydrated by drinking half your body weight in ounces daily.

Infusing your water with citrus fruits or herbs is not only a tasty alternative to plain water, but provides additional benefits. A big glass of infused water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach helps to cleanse and alkalize our system. It is easy to get in the habit of making coffee the first thing we drink in the morning, but this only adds to our body’s acidity. Our bodies become more acidic at night while we sleep. A big glass of lemon water, strawberry basil, cucumber mint or other fun variety is not just refreshing, but cleansing and alkalizing. The possibilities are endless with flavors! After drinking a big glass of water wait at least 10 minutes, 30min is even better, before steaming up your latte.

Infuse water by adding fresh, organic ingredients to your purified water and letting it sit at least 5 minutes. You can make a pitcher of it and infuse overnight if you want.
Try this sliced lemon and fresh rosemary recipe. Rosemary is antibacterial, and although this it is a very small amount used here, it can definitely have cumulative benefits. Lemon or lime is a notorious immune booster and aids in digestion, so they are an excellent part of a morning health routine.
