Beet Smoothie

Vibrant detoxifying antioxidant smoothie. This is incredible for your immune system, bones, brain and heart health! Did you know beets are an ancient prehistoric food, and it was only the greens that were consumed? It wasn’t until later that the sweet vibrant root was consumed. They are a big cancer fighter and anti-inflammatory vegetable and especially nutritious raw! Recipe for 1 large or 2 regular size servings.

Put the following ingredients in a powerful blender like @vitammix, liquids first.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond, soy or coconut milk
  • 1/2 peeled raw beet cut (add beet greens too if you have them!)
  • 1/2 Apple cut
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries of choice (I used blueberries)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or plain kefir
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 Tbs raw honey

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in your powerful blender in order listed.
  2. Blend well!
