This recipe here is my basic staple protein power-packed smoothie year-round!
It’s my go-to, post-work-out protein drink as it boasts 29gm of protein in 12 oz. I typically pour myself even a little more. I also provide this for my strength coach husband, Scott, in the mornings to sustain him for his long workdays at the gym. Check out those vitamins in a 12 oz serving!!!👊🏼…Not to mention the probiotics, antioxidants and other minerals not even indicated. I typically add a green superfood powder supplement that sky-rockets the vitamins off the chart! I love the Garden of Life’s Raw Cacao version.
We can fill our bodies with any ol’ calories to survive, but with proper nutrition, we will always have more energy, brainpower, strength, and stamina to fully accomplish what we are designed to do! The ingredients in this smoothie are easy to obtain, fresh year-round, and are always in our fridge. This is the base recipe, but often I’ll also throw in an apple, zucchini squash, or even a handful of blueberries if I have it. (This recipe will make you approx three 12 oz. servings)
- 1 banana
- 3 handfuls spinach (or kale/other greens)
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 1 carrot
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (coconut, hemp or other)
- 2 servings chocolate whey protein powder
- 2 Tbs hulled hemp seeds
- 2 Tbs almond butter (or peanut or other nut butter)
- Add ingredients in order listed into your Vitamix or other powerful blender.
- Blend until smooth!
